Tracy BertogTracy Bertog, Founder and CEO
Tracy started Bertog Landscape Co. in April of 1974 while attending Glenbrook South High School. He attended Triton College and completed all the courses offered in the Horticulture program. Tracy develops and directs team and company goals and is responsible for short and long term planning. In addition, he monitors the processes and progress of the management team and confirms that their goals and expectations are consistent with those of the company. Tracy served on the Glenview Optimist Board from 1999 - 2005 and is a past chairman of the Glenview Chamber Board.
Robert BertogRobert Bertog, CLP, CSP, President
Robert graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He also completed the required courses to earn an Associate’s Degree in Investment Economics and Analysis. Robert has become a Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Certified Landscape Professional (CLP), a level of certification that fewer than 1% of landscape contractors have achieved. He has also completed the required exams to become a Snow and Ice Management Association of America (SIMA) Certified Snow Professional (CSP). In order to stay abreast of the changing laws that affect the industry, Robert keeps his Turfgrass and Ornamentals Pesticide License current. He is the current President of the Illinois Landscape Contractor’s Association (ILCA), and has chaired and been involved on several committees for the Association.
Art Marti Art Marti, President of Production and Operations
Art began his career with Bertog Landscape Company in the spring of 2000 as an Installation Foreman. His organizational and leadership skills were immediately apparent, and today, Art directs all aspects of production and operations. Art's experience building houses, and his experience managing his own business, has had a great impact on his ability to run our operations.  Art is a Master Chef, and in his spare time, he enjoys cooking, hunting, and is also an avid sports fan.
Steve Bertog Steve Bertog, Irrigation Director
Steve Bertog began building the irrigation business in 1986, and has continued to provide quality irrigation and lighting installation to residential and commercial properties for over 20 years. In April of 2000, Steve was recognized by the Irrigation Association as one of the “nation’s best and brightest” irrigation contractors when he was included in the Top 100 Plus for a superior reputation and quality work. He is an authorized Irritrol WeatherTrak Irrigation Controller Installer. While managing the irrigation division, Steve helps monitor job progress and site conditions and is also responsible for hiring, training, and supervising the irrigation crews. Steve is available to meet with clients to discuss new irrigation installation plans, or changes to an existing irrigation system.
Greg Roos, CLTGreg Roos, Certified Landscape Technician (CLT), Construction Manager
In 1994, Greg began his career with Bertog Landscape Co. as an Installation Foreman. Over the years, Greg has trained numerous laborers, and as a result of his exemplary teaching, several of these laborers have become foreman. His responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervising our installation crews. Greg monitors job progress on a daily basis, and meets with clients to advise on the conditions and status of the work in progress. Since the year 2000, Greg has been a CLT committee member, and acted as a site coordinator. He is also a member of the I.L.C.A. Leadership Council, and has been a Certified Interlocking Concrete Paver Installer since 2005.
Jackson Huffstutler

Jackson Huffstutler, Certified Landscape Technician (CLT), Landscape Construction Supervisor
Jackson joined Bertog in 2008 as a landscape construction supervisor. He studied Landscape / Turf Management at Michigan State University and Plant Science at Northwestern Michigan College. He has been involved in the industry since 1998, with roles including design, sales, irrigation, installation, and maintenance.  His current responsibilities include supervision of installation crews, project monitoring, and assisting with scheduling.  He is a Certified Landscape Technician (CLT).  

Jose RodriguezJose Rodriguez, Maintenance Manager
Jose began his career at Bertog Landscape Company as a laborer.  He has worked his way up the ranks and is currently the maintenance manager.  Jose works closely with Art Marti scheduling crews and in account supervision.  In addition, Jose assists with the interviewing and hiring of our staff for the maintenance crews.  He is also in charge of coordinating personnel for our snow program.   
Armando Arroyo

Armando Arroyo, Maintenance Supervisor

Armando started his career with Bertog as a laborer, and very quickly displayed leadership qualities that he uses today in his role as a maintenance supervisor.  Armando works closely with Jose Rodriguez with account supervision and helps manage our crews in the field.  Armando is also an account supervisor during snow events.

 

 

Shannon McGrath

Shannon McGrath , Purchasing Manager

Shannon graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Horticulture and Design.  While at Purdue, she served as a teaching assistant for the Herbaceous Landscape Plants class, which allowed her to further develop her knowledge of annuals and perennials.  She has been involved in many aspects of the horticulture industry, including landscape maintenance, nursery sales, and floral design.  Shannon purchases all plant and hardscape material and oversees the care of this material.

Efrain Estrada

Efrain Estrada , Fleet Manager

Efrain received his Associate's Degree in Automotive Technology and is an ASA and EPA Certified Technician. For 6 years, Efrain owned his own repair shop and was the assistant fleet manager for a snow removal company. His responsibilities include management of our fleet, which includes over 250 pieces of equipment. Efrain tracks inventory, fleet budgets, and the hours that the mechanics work.  He schedules and oversees the maintenance and repairs of all trucks, trailers, tractors, and small machinery.  In addition, Efrain is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean fleet.

 

 

Mark Koza

Mark Koza , Commercial Sales Account Manager

Mark graduated from North Central College in Naperville with a degree in Fine Arts and a Minor in Marketing.  He has over 17 years of experience in the landscape industry, which includes managing a family business while attending college.  His responsibilities include commercial account management and sales.  Mark enjoys painting, as well as, fishing and other outdoor activities.  

 

 

Ashley RoennaAshley Roenna , Landscape Horticulturist and Residential Maintenance Account Manager
Ashley received her Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture from Iowa State University.  While attending, she was involved as a university research assistant for plant pathology, and served as a project coordinator for the Horticulture Club.  She further pursued her education by studying in Central America, Sweden, Norway, and Italy, where she learned landscape practices for different regional agricultures and garden designs from around the world.  She gained her experience in the industry by working in floral design, landscape maintenance, greenhouse production, and nursery sales. Ashley's responsibilities include working with our residential maintenance clients and reviewing each property for potential site enhancements.   


Linda FarringtonLinda Farrington , Landscape Designer
Linda graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign with a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.  She has been involved with award-winning residential projects along Chicago's North Shore for 10 years.  She has completed several graphics courses from leaders in the industry.  Her portfolio includes formal gardens, country estates, city courtyards, water features, and outdoor dining areas.  Linda's strengths include grading, drainage, perennial design, and graphic rendering.  In her free time, Linda enjoys spending time on the volleyball court. 

 

Cory MahonCory Mahon , Landscape Designer
Cory
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She has been involved in many aspects of the horticultural industry, but her skills in design are seen in her ability to offer creative solutions for landscape spaces.  Cory has a wide-range of presentation skills, which includes hand-rendering and computer 3D graphics.  She excels at designing solutions for both small spaces and large estates.  Her attention to detail extends to the seasonal displays that complete the overall installation.

 

Chester TrochaChester Trocha, Landscape Designer
Chester received his Bachelor's degree in Landscape Horticulture and Design from Purdue University
.  While at Purdue, he also completed several courses in Landscape Architecture.  He was a member of the Purdue Horticultural Society and served as Vice President during his senior year.  Chester has worked on a variety of projects ranging from neighborhood parks to large estates.  His attention to detail ensures both functionally and aesthetically pleasing landscapes. 

 

Scott Wallace Scott Wallace, Admin / Director of Marketing and Irrigation Support
Scott joined our team in 2002 and has a great ability to multi-task.  His daily responsibilities include management of the landscape construction and irrigation scheduling boards, scheduling of irrigation maintenance, service, and installation jobs, as well as, processing work orders and proposals. Scott also plays a major role in our marketing and website development.








Amy FoleyAmy Foley, Admin / Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Amy joined the company in 2002, and her responsibilities include accounts receivable and accounts payable. Her excellent computer skills continue to challenge us to find a computer that handles her level of efficiency. Amy helps in all phases of our accounting and provides additional support in organizing time sheets and preparation for maintenance and snow events.








Peggy DiederichPeggy Diederich , Administrative Assistant
Peggy joined Bertog Landscape Company in the fall of 2008. She adds additional phone support for our administrative department, as well as, assistance with payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and job costing.

Laura began her career at Bertog Landscape in 2000 and her voice is recognized by the majority of our clients. Her vast knowledge of our clients, staff, and the day-to-day operations of our business gives her the ability to answer the questions and concerns of our clients immediately.
